The Forum of Local Government Chairmen in Oyo State, under the leadership of Hon. Sikiru Sanda, Chairman of Egbeda Local Government Area, has congratulated the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, and his wife, Her Excellency, Mrs. Tamunominini Makinde, on their conferment with the prestigious chieftaincy titles of Aare Soludero of Oyo and Yeye Asoludero of Oyo, respectively.
In a statement issued on behalf of the 33 local government chairmen, Hon. Sanda described the conferment as well-deserved and a reflection of Governor Makinde’s commitment to the development, unity and progress of Oyo State and the Yoruba nation at large.
According to the forum, the title of Aare Soludero, meaning the one who brings clarity and direction to the people, aptly captures Governor Makinde’s leadership style, which has been marked by transparency, infrastructural development and people-oriented governance since 2019.
The chairmen also noted that Mrs. Tamunominini Makinde’s conferment as Yeye Asoludero recognizes her impactful humanitarian efforts, advocacy for women and children, and support for community development initiatives across the state.
“We, the 33 local government chairmen in Oyo State, rejoice with our father and leader, Governor Seyi Makinde, and our mother, Mrs. Tamunominini Makinde, on this great honour bestowed on them,” the statement read.
“This recognition is a testament to your exemplary leadership, dedication to service and the love the people of Oyo State and beyond have for you. The titles further validate the Omituntun agenda and the positive impact it has had on every sector of our state.”
The forum however pledged continued loyalty and support to the Makinde administration, assuring that local government chairmen across the state remain committed to delivering grassroots development in line with the governor’s vision.
They prayed for more wisdom, strength and divine guidance for the governor and his wife as they continue to pilot the affairs of the state.
The chieftaincy conferment ceremony was held amid pomp and pageantry, with dignitaries from across the country in attendance to celebrate the governor and his wife.
