The Onigbope of Igbope Land, Oba Dr Moses Olawale Oyetola, has installed Imam Kareem Abdulaziz Ejalonibu as the new Imam of Igbope Land in Oorelope Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The monarch also installed Yunus Abdul Jelli Abdul Salam as the new Mufti of Igbope Land during a ceremony attended by Muslim clerics, traditional leaders, community members and other dignitaries.
The installation, according to the monarch, was part of efforts to strengthen Islamic leadership and promote peace, unity and peaceful coexistence among residents of Igbope and its surrounding communities.
Speaking at the ceremony, Oba Oyetola charged the newly installed Imam and Mufti to discharge their responsibilities with dedication, humility and fear of God.
He urged them to use their positions to promote religious tolerance, moral values and peaceful coexistence among Muslims and adherents of other faiths in the community.
The monarch also called on members of the Muslim community to support the new religious leaders and cooperate with them in advancing the spiritual and social development of Igbope Land.
In his remarks, the newly installed Imam, Imam Kareem Abdulaziz Ejalonibu, expressed appreciation to the Onigbope for the confidence reposed in him.
He pledged to work with other Islamic scholars and community leaders to promote unity, peace and religious development in the community.
Similarly, the new Mufti, Yunus Abdul Jelli Abdul Salam, thanked the monarch and the Muslim community for the appointment, promising to uphold the principles of Islam and contribute to the development of Igbope Land.
The ceremony was attended by Islamic scholars, traditional chiefs, community leaders, family members and residents of Igbope.
