Alli Campaign Accuses Makinde, APM Of Shielding Criminals From Justice

Sharafadeen Alli Grieves Over Crown FC Driver’s Death, Prays for Injured Players, Officials

The Hon Bimbo Adekanmbi Campaign Organisation has challenged the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State and its governorship candidate, Senator Sharafadeen Alli to act responsibly and refrain from making false accusations that can heighten tension in the state.

The Adekanmbi Campaign Organisation stated this in a strongly-worded response to the false accusations that Allied People’s Movement (APM) supporters were responsible for a string of violence in Ibadan.

The statement, signed by the Deputy Director, Media and Publicity of the Hon Bimbo Adekanmbi Campaign Organisation, Moses Alao, on Sunday, called on SSACO to demonstrate responsibility and quit making senseless accusations that can jeopardise the efforts of security agencies in securing the state, noting that with the trend adopted by the APC Candidate, criminals can begin to game the security system by disguising criminal activities as politically-motivated, knowing that some political parties will seek to trend with such heinous acts.

The APM candidate equally called on the Department of State Security and the Oyo State Police Command to quickly call political parties to order about making sensational but unfounded accusations.

The statement read in part: “We condemn, without equivocation, the allegations that supporters of the APM are responsible for foisting violence in Oyo State in recent times, including alleged attacks on one of Senator Alli’s countless Baby Mamas, Hon Folake Osinowo-Olunloyo and the Accord Party.

“The statement particularly claimed that APM members were responsible for the alleged killing of “one Ridwan, nicknamed Paul Moore, in Ibadan South-West Local Government despite not knowing the deceased surname and not mentioning any individual suspected to have carried out the act.

“While mourning the deceased and praying that God grants repose to his soul, we challenge SSACO to be responsible and sensible at this period so as not to heighten tension in our state and allow criminals to game the system by making all dastardly acts to look like politically-motivated.

“APC, SSACO and other political parties should allow the law enforcement agencies to do their jobs and should not assume that because they can buy bloggers and dictate the slant of their stories, then they have become the law.

“We have witnessed the sickening trend by the APC and the Senator Sharafadeen Alli Campaign Organisation, whereby they shop for all sorts of lies to pin on Governor Makinde, Hon Adekanmbi and the APM.

“It was pathetic that they could brazenly accuse the supporters of the APM presidential candidate, Governor ‘Seyi Makinde and the party’s governorship candidate, Hon Bimbo Adekanmbi of being responsible for violence without being able to substantiate the claims.

“These accusations were barbaric, nonsensical and reprehensible and we make bold to say that APM, Governor Makinde and Hon Adekanmbi are lovers of peace and do not have anything to do with the violence and killings.

“At least, the public has seen photographs and videos of Accord Party thugs wielding axes at Molete, while claiming to be victims of violence. We are also sure that the security agencies will do their jobs and come up with reports on the other incidents.

“We encourage APC and SSACO to allow the security agencies to carry out the findings and to apply caution and stop levelling baseless allegations.”

The Bimbo Adekanmbi Campaign Organisation also called on members of the public to be wary of APC’s lies and desperation to win election by whipping up sentiments based on lies and irresponsible accusations.

“It is sad and irresponsible that APC and SSACO have become desperate and have resorted to peddling lies, writing one-sided reports for online media outlets, which they have instructed never to reach out for other sides to the story.

“We urge residents of Oyo State to remain steadfast and to guide their hearts from APC’s lies. They will come up with many lies; they will use all means to sway voters and these false accusations have proven to be just one of many underhand tactics.

“But we are assured that residents of Oyo State are resilient and resolute about supporting Governor Makinde for president, Hon Adekanmbi for Oyo State Governor and will vote the APM in all elections and no amount of lies can change that,” the statement added.
