The Oyo State Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Mojeed Adekunle Olaoya on Thursday lost his mother, Alhaja Hamdalat Omotoyosi Olaoya of Aleshinloye Compound, Isale-Ijebu, Ibadan.
Late Alhaja Olaoya died at the age of 99 and has been buried according to Islamic rites in badan on Thursday.
While speaking shortly after the burial, the APC scribe said his mother will be greatly missed. He described her as a mother who supported him with prayers during her lifetime. He also prayed that Allah overlook her shortcomings and grant her Al Jannah Firdaus.
“We planned to celebrate Mama’s 100th birthday next year, unfortunately we lost her. This is indeed a big loss because she was somebody you won’t like to part with. I will surely miss her”. he said.
Olaoya siad that the 8th Day Fidau prayer will come up next week Thursday at a venue to be announced soon.
Notable members of the party including the gubernatorial candidate in the 2019 general election, Chief Bayo Adelabu graced the occasion.
