The All Progressives Congress, (APC) in Oyo State has hailed the federal government for giving palliative to the state government and other South West States through Nigeria Customs Service, in form of food stuff; mainly 1,800 bags of rice.
The party’s Publicity Secretary, Dr. Abdulazeez Olatunde in a statement on Tuesday, called on Governor Seyi Makinde to immediately distribute the product without bias
The party noted that the federal government of had “Walk its Talk” by fulfilling its purpose of governing without bias by donating 6,000 Bags of rice to four South Western states of Nigeria.
The states were Oyo with 1,800 bags of rice, Osun – 1,800 bags of rice, Ekiti – 1,800 bags of rice but Ondo State collected 600 bags of rice in Ibadan with other 3 States.
However the balance of 1,200 Bags of rice is to be collected in Lagos warehouse of Nigeria Customs.
Mrs Helen Ngozi of Nigeria Customs while handing over the Consignment of 1,800 bags of rice to the representative of Oyo State government, Mrs Olaide Lasisi ensured that the rice consignment were inspected by the delegate from Oyo State government led by Mrs Olaide Lasisi to affirm that they were in good condition, fit for human consumption.
The party expressed hope that Makinde would not only distribute the donated rice immediately but also add from the donated cash by the corporate and individuals to the people and residents of Oyo State without political bias, as people were already felt the COVID-19 palliative is late in coming.
“APC OYO STATE hope that H.E,Gov Seyi Makinde will not only distribute the Donated Rice immediately but also add from the Donated Cash by the Corporate and Individuals to the People and Residents of Oyo State without Political bias, as people are already seeing this COVID-19 Palliative as being terribly late in coming.
“On behalf of the leader of APC in Oyo State and Deputy National Chairman(South) APC, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, the state chairman, Chief Akin Oke, the state executives and in fact all APC members in Oyo State, we are expressing the gratitude of the good people of Oyo State to President Muhammadu Buhari for bailing Oyo State out of the uncertainty of the COVID-19 Palliative”, the party said.
