The Oyo state governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress, (ADC), Olooye Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke (FCA) has announced Engineer Aderoju Oladayo Salako as his substantive deputy.
As Adegoke also received the certificate of return from the party at the national headquarters of the ADC in Abuja on Thursday.
These were contained In a statement made available to journalists by the Adegoke’s Media Team on Friday.
The Certificate of Return which is signed by the National Chairman, Senator David Mark and National Secretary, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola stated that, “This is to certify that Taofeek Adegboyega Adegoke having satisfied the requirements of the party constitution, is hereby declared the winner of the 2026 Oyo state primary governorship election, issued on the 30th day of May 2026”.
The second one also stated that, “African Democratic Congress 2026 primary elections certificate of return issued on the 30th May, 2026 signed by the Electoral Committee”.
The statement further stated that, Engineer Salako, a Christian, who hails from Saki in Saki West Local Government Area of Oyo State and was born on 3rd of August 1979.
A self-motivated and target oriented person, Salako according to the Adegoke’s Media Team has the ability to work with little or no supervision using his own initiative, also possess and demonstrate good interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team, as well as ability to assimilate and adapt to new concept and working condition.
He was certified and registered as an Engineer in 2019 by the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).
Salako graduated from the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, (LAUTECH) Ogbomoso in 2005 with Bachelor of Technology (Hons) in Civil Engineering.
Among professional works carried out by the astute Engineer included, beautification of Soun Ogunlola town hall, Ogbomoso; construction of modern maternity and health centre at Ibapon, Ogbomosho; rehabilitation and construction of Iwo Ate, Ife Odan Road in Ogo-Oluwa local government area of Oyo state and the rehabilitation and construction of Iresa Adu/Iregba road in Surulere local government area of Oyo state.
Others were rehabilitation of 2 maternity centres at Olorunsogo local government, Igbeti for Oyo state government; rehabilitation of 2 primary health centres at Olorunsogo local government under MDGs conditional grant scheme, Igbeti, Oyo state; construction of housing estate Lokogoma, Abuja.
Construction of bus terminal at Igando, Lagos state; construction of bus depot at Alimosho local government, Ikotun, Lagos; construction of Ogbese River Bridge that links Ondo and Edo states and many other notable infrastructural development projects across the country.
The statement added that his vast experience in engineering infrastructural development would be an added asset for the development of Oyo state.
In the statement, Olooye Adegoke disclosed that Engineer Aderoju was picked after a clear consultation, consideration and expanded political calculation across the geo-politcal zones of Oyo state.
The statement concluded that Engr. Aderoju Oladayo Salako’s name has been updated on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal as the substantive ADC deputy governorship candidate for Oyo state.
