Lawmaker representing Akinyele/Lagelu federal constituency at the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. (Prince) Olafisoye Wasiu Akinmoyede has described the death of the Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Mahood Lekan Balogun has a personal loss to him and the entire indigenes of Lagelu Local Government area of Oyo State.
Hon. Olafisoye stated this in a condolence message made available to journalists on Saturday.
He commiserated with the government of Oyo State, the Chairman of Lagelu Local Government, the Lagun family in Lagelu where Oba Balogun hailed from and the entire indigenes of Ibadan over the demise of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun who died on Thursday night few days after he marked his second anniversary on the throne as the Olubadan of Ibadan land.
He said though Late Oba Balogun who was his political father’s reign was short it was monumental and historic to the people of the ancient city of Ibadan and humanity in general.
Hon. Lafi recalled that late Oba Lekan Balogun was instrumental to everything he has achieved as a politician because he made a lot of financial and moral contributions to his political career right from when he was a councillor to his present position as federal lawmaker.
The Lawmaker commiserated with Governor Seyi Makinde, Chairman Lagelu Local Government, the Olubadan-In-Council, immediate and extended Lagun family members of the deceased and all Ibadan indigenes stressing that the entire constituents of Akinyele/Lagelu are with them in spirit and prayers at this critical period of grieve.
He prayed that Almighty Allah forgive His Imperial Majesty, Oba Lekan Balogun his shortcomings, accept his good deeds and admit him into Al-janatul firdaos.
