As the security of lives and property remains one of the cardinal agenda of his administration, the chairman of Olorunsogo local government area of Oyo state, Hon. Qozeem Olayanju has again recorded another milestone achievement in less than three months after his inauguration as chairman.
In the latest achievement, among many other people-oriented initiatives in the pipeline, Hon Olayanju on Thursday handed over to the Police authority, a newly constructed building that will serve as area command headquarters for the Nigeria Police Force in Igbeti.
The building which was constructed by the community with the support of the revered council chairman was strategically located and befitting for smooth operation of officers and men of the command.
Addressing dignitaries during the commissioning ceremony, Hon Olayanju said, that for any community to enjoy security, peace, and tranquility, such community must provide standard accommodation to security agencies to serve as a morale booster to the officers.
Olayanju said his administration understands the importance of adequate security and law enforcement agencies, especially at the grassroots level, hence the reason for the construction of a befitting office for the police area command headquarters in Olorunsogo local government.
He said “Majorly, the project was a quest to provide lasting solutions to the perennial problem of insecurities in the length and breadth of the LG.”
The chairman appreciated the Onigbeti of Igbeti land, His Royal Majesty, ENGR. Alhaji Bashir Olalekan Abioye (Siyanbola IV), the president of Igbeti Tooro, Alhaji [Hon]. Olajide Jimoh Olatunji and his executives; the ICPC, former Igbeti Toro president, Alhaji [Hon]. Jimoh Alawode, the immediate past local government administration, the Igbeti youth president, Mr. Jimoh Rasheed and his executives; and Alhaji T Danjuma, among others.
Hon Olayanju also praised the Executive governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde, and the State Commissioner of Police, CP Sonubi on their extraordinary activeness in solving the long-standing security challenges in the state.
While congratulating the area Commander, DCP Sule Modu Dauda, for the achievement recorded in his tenure, Hon Olayanju urged him to sustain the commitment of the force to stem crime and criminality in Olorunsogo.
“We hope that the commissioning of the project shall be the beginning of greater and enviable things coming on the way of our people in Olorunsogo LGA”.
