The executive governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, has assured the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members serving in the state of maximum security.
He stated this during the terminal parade and closing ceremony of the 21-day orientation course for Batch C (Stream I) corps members at the permanent orientation camp, Ogbakuta, Iseyin, Oyo state on Monday.
The Governor, who was represented by the deputy governor, Otunba Moses Adeyemo, stated that the people of Oyo state would guarantee excellent hospitality.
“I want to assure you that my administration would ensure that your security and welfare are not compromised. Oyo State is relatively peaceful and you will enjoy the warmness of the people.”
Declaring the orientation for the batch closed, he advised the corps members to bear in mind the oath of allegiance and also strive to contribute to the building of a united society.
“You should make your host communities and by extension Oyo State an enviable one by shunning all forms of vices that impede development. Endeavour to productively put in your best no matter how small or big it might be for the rapid development of the state.”
“Ensure that you refrain from any act that would tarnish the good image your predecessors have built over the years. I admonish you as agents of change, to impact positively on your host communities.”
Earlier in her goodwill address, the State coordinator, Ambekemo Eniola, also advised the corps members to be law abiding in the discharge of duties and also embark on developmental projects.
“As you proceed to your Places of Primary Assignments, allow the training you have received in camp make a difference in your lives.”
“Be security conscious and respect cultures and traditions of the community you find yourself,” she said
