The streets of Iseyin were alive with excitement yesterday, Wednesday, January 15, 2025 as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Youth made headlines, demonstrating not just their athletic prowess but also their spirit of unity and community engagement during a thrilling novelty match against Afras FC.

The match, played at the renowned Iseyin Township Stadium, was part of the activities lined up for the PDP Iseyin Youth Summit 2025, and it marked a significant moment for both the players and the local community.

The day was filled with camaraderie, celebration, and a demonstration of what can be achieved when young individuals come together for a common purpose.

From the kick-off to the final whistle, the match embodied the essence of teamwork. The PDP Youth team, which included the dynamic Iseyin Local Government Chairman, Hon. Abdulrasaq Fadiran, showcased unparalleled synergy on the field. Their collaboration demonstrated not only their commitment to sportsmanship but also a deep sense of community.

As the game progressed, it became clear that this was more than just a friendly match; it was a celebration of youth empowerment and unity. The players exhibited resilience, skill, and an unwavering spirit, capturing the hearts of supporters who rallied behind them.

The winning goal, scored by the council boss himself, was met with cheers and applause, symbolizing the hopes and aspirations of young people in Iseyin.

The culmination of the match saw the PDP Youth team victorious, and the atmosphere was electric with joy and celebration. As the PDP flag was raised high, it became a symbol of determination and collective strength.

This victory wasn’t just for the team; it resonated deeply within the community, reinforcing the idea that united efforts lead to success.

The energy in the stadium mirrored the enthusiasm outside, where earlier in the day, Honourabe Shina Peller, Iseyin local government party chairman, Alhaji Musediq Omotoso Adele, and other party dignitaries had participated in a rally with the youth. Their presence added to the significance of the day, further highlighting the importance of youth involvement in political discourse.

Speaking to journalists during the rally, Honourabe Peller emphasized the vital role that young people play in shaping the future and the necessity for leaders to foster an inclusive environment that encourages youth-driven initiatives.

The four-day event, which started on Monday, continues today with the grand finale, reflects a growing recognition of the power of youth in political gatherings and their capacity to drive change.

The PDP Youth Summit stands as a testament to the party’s dedication to not only uplifting young voices but also empowering them to take charge of their destinies.
