A residential building in Saki, Oyo State, belonging to a family member of Malik Aderogba, was engulfed in flames on 14th of January.
The house, which serves as Malik’s usual abode whenever he visits Saki from Ibadan, was reportedly set on fire by an unknown person.
Eyewitnesses claim that the fire started in the late hours of the night, and quickly spread throughout the building. The cause of the fire is still unknown, but eyewitnesses suspect arson.
“The fire was intense, and it spread quickly,” said an eyewitness who preferred anonymity. “We tried to put out the fire, but it was too late. The house was completely destroyed.”
Malik Aderogba, who was not in the house at the time of the incident, expressed shock and sadness over the loss of his family’s property.
“I’m still in shock over the incident,” Malik said. “I don’t know who could have done this or why. I’m just grateful that no one was hurt.”
The incident has left many in the community in shock, and has raised concerns about the safety and security of residents in the area.
