Striking workers of Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, Oyo, have been reminded of the Governing Council’s decision that only staff who report for work and perform their duties will receive their salary.
Secretary to the Council, Mr Teslim Adediran said the decision became necessary when efforts made to guarantee regular payment of salary and clear backlog of arrears yielded no positive result.
Radio Nigeria’s correspondent reports that as at this morning, workers were yet to suspend the over four months old strike.
Meanwhile, concerned parents have appealed to the college authorities and the workers to consider the plight of students now faced with the effects of the intermittent strikes.
