As inflation bites harder in Nigeria and many people including low grade government workers cannot afford 3 square meals a day, an NGO, The George Aid Foundation of Nigeria with its USA counterpart continues to collaborate with the Rotary Club of Ibadan Jericho Metro to distribute food packs to the downtrodden.
For the month of April, the Foundation with her US based counterpart distributed food packs to Ibadan street sweepers under the Oyo State Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources on Tuesday, April 16th, 2024.
Presenting the food packs to the street sweepers at the office of the commissioner, Architect Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola thanked the initiators and people behind this event for the packages that benefited about 80 street sweepers.
The commissioner represented by the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Sunday Moradeyo said well meaning individuals should take a clue from this monthly gesture of The George Aid Foundation which supports the community and less privileged.
Earlier in his opening remarks the President of Rotary Club Jericho Metro, Rotarian Damilola Olaleye said the support of The George Aid Foundation is aimed at alleviating the current food crisis and goes a long way in assisting the downtrodden, less privileged and low income earner’s.
The street sweepers under the Oyo State Ministry of Environment that benefitted from the gesture thanked the initiators for the support which they said will not be taken for granted.
The food packs comprises rice, beans, cassava flakes, tomato paste and other food condiments.
The event was graced by Directors from the state ministry of Environment and Natural resources, Jericho Metro Rotary members and other officials.
