In a bid to sharpen its strategic engagements towards the upcoming local government election in the state, the Oorelope Local Government chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has constituted and inaugurated its local government election campaign council.
This was contained in a press statement made available by the Public Relations Officer of the party in the LGA, Saheed Laide Okanlawon.
According to Okanlawon, the Oorelope APC chairman, Mr. Saliu Maja announced the names of members of the campaign council during a brief ceremony that took place at the party’s general meeting held at the Baptist High School (BHS) Igboho, on Tuesday.
Maja announced a former caretaker chairman, Mr Adesola Yaqub Tasoolo, as the Director General of the council.
He said that the constitution of the council was in line with the party’s efforts to win the forthcoming local government election and to retain its dominance in the local government.
The list include Hon. Adesola Yaqub (chairman), Hon. Sulaiman Oyebisi (Secretary), others are Mr. Jamiu Ateere, Hon. Adeyemi Mathew, Mr. Adigun Oluwatoyin, Mr. Amao Gbenga and Hon. Adelani Mathew.
Others are Mr. Sulaiman Gbeje, Alhaji Oseni Oni, Mrs. Bashiru Serifat and Mrs. Olaleye Rebecca.
The inauguration/meeting was attended by numerous leaders and stakeholders and party members including Hon. Ezra Olatunbosun, the APC chairmanship candidate, His Vice chairmanship candidate, Hon. Yusuff Saheed, Hon (Barr.) Mohammed Abdulsalam, the Oyo State APC Legal Adviser, Hon. Suliat Sekoni, Alhaji Mudathir Somope, Elder Popoola, women and others.
ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN DG
The campaign council DG, Hon. Yaqub, a seasoned telecommunications expert with vast knowledge and experience in public and private sector, is a former caretaker chairman of Oorelope local government, the personal assistant (P.A) to the former deputy governor of Oyo state and a member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) in the 2023 general election.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Jos. He is an alumnus of the Daystar Leadership Academy (DLA), a graduate of the African Institute of Leadership, Strategy and Development.
He is currently undergoing training on public policy and disruptive leadership at the School of Politics Policy and Governance (SPPG) and he is a member of the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS.
