Saki Muslim Community Youth Wing has rejoiced with the board and management of the College of Nursing Sciences, Muslim Medical Foundation Saki, Oyo State, for the provisional accreditation of its seven courses by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
The courses are General Nursing; Basic Midwifery; Post Basic Nursing; Post Basic Midwifery; Public Health Nursing; Community Health and Community Midwifery.
A statement issued by the Protem Chairman of the body, Abdulrosheed Okiki, and the Protem Secretary, Sodiq Aderogba said the Saki Muslim Youth were excited with the development which is in line with the vision of the College.
The body particularly commended the League of Imams and Alfas under the headship of the Chief Imam of Sakiland, Shaykh AbdulAzeez Jeje, the Saki Muslim Community led by Alh. Sulaiman Lawal-Oroyinyin, Baytul Maal under the leadership of Aare Musulumi of Saki, Alh. Moshood Akinwumi and other key stakeholders, including known and unknown individuals offering generous donations to the College and other assets of Muslims in Saki City.
“We are very much excited with the news going around about the successful accreditation of courses at the College of Nursing Sciences, Muslim Medical Foundation, Saki. This is not a mean feat. It shows that massive investments, contributions, and support of all stakeholders to the common heritage of Saki Muslims are yielding positive results,” the statement said.
The Saki Muslim Community Youth Wing maintained that the College has witnessed progress in every facet, especially in infrastructural development, laboratory equipment, and in fulfilling its core mandate of training Nurses and Midwives to provide support for other health workers.
“The Saki Muslim Community Youth Wing sees the result of the accreditation and the positive remarks by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) as reflective of the commitment and dedication of management and staff of the College. We urge you all to continue to give your best to sustain the College’s academic excellence,” the statement added.
Former School of Basic Midwifery, Muslim Hospital, Saki had in 2023 upgraded into the College of Nursing Sciences to run both Nursing, Midwifery, and other programmes due to the new reforms of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
