The Iya Meta Food Canteen 6-A-Side Football Competition will reach its climax on Thursday, August 27, 2026, with Olive All Star FC taking on Bense FC in the grand finale at Olive Primary School, Bodija, Ibadan.
The final match is scheduled to kick off at 3:30pm, while the red-carpet session will begin at 3pm at the venue.
The competition, organised by Opadeji Ridwan Abiola, popularly known as Paradise, brought together 16 teams divided into four groups as part of efforts to promote grassroots football, community engagement and sporting talent in Ibadan.
Group A featured Iya Meta FC, Alh Solebo, Sulesue FC and Ola Clash FC, while Group B comprised Rap Autos, Golden Star FC, Dan Iya FC and All-Star FC.
Group C had Olive All-Star, Rainbow Legend, Masogul Alagbado FC and Alh Sule Adebayo, while Group D consisted of Alh Jentodun, Mechanic United, Bense FC and Arewa United.
After the various stages of the competition, Olive All Star FC and Bense FC emerged as the two finalists and will battle for the championship title in what organisers expect to be an exciting conclusion to the tournament.
Beyond the sporting contest, the competition also offers financial rewards to the top-performing teams.
The eventual winners will receive ₦250,000, while the runners-up will take home ₦150,000. The third-placed team will receive ₦100,000.
This publication understands that the final is expected to provide an opportunity for local football talents to showcase their skills while strengthening the spirit of unity, friendship and community engagement through sports.
