A new Commissioner of Police, Mrs Ngozi Onadeko has been reportedly assigned to head the security affairs of Oyo State.
This was contained in a signal with Ref. No. TH.5361/FS/FHQ/ABJ/V.4/489, and dated January 11, 2021, signed by the Force Secretary.
In the signal which authorized the postings of the officers, Mrs Onadeko was posted to Oyo State as the new commissioner of police of the command.
Here are few details about the new Oyo Commissioner of Police:
- Mrs Onadeko’s appointment was approved on Monday, January 11, 2020, and was based on the orders of the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu.
- In 2016, the Police Service Commission, PSC, approved the promotion of 47 Assistant Commissioners of Police, ACP, to the next rank of Deputy Commissioners of Police, DCP and she was one of the beneficiaries.
- She was part of the 623 officers comprising 40 Commissioners of Police, 98, Deputy Commissioners of Police, 150, Assistant Commissioners of Police and 335, Chief Superintendents of Police promoted to next rank in December 2019.
- Mrs Ondeko joins the league of Jane Agbede, who was appointed as the Commissioner of Police in Abia in April 2020.
