Barely a week after the visit of Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue to Oyo state, The Tiv community in Oyo state has expressed confidence in the leadership of Engr. Seyi Makinde, disclosing their willingness to support his political ambition beyond 2023.
This was disclosed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Intergovernmental Affairs and Northern States Liason, Hon. Dooshima Aneh (JP) during a stakeholders meeting of the Tiv community in Oyo state, held at the Benue Links park, Ojoo, Ibadan.
The special adviser said: “This gathering is essentially to reassure our people that the present administration of Engr. Seyi Makinde is poised to jettison ethnic considerations in the affairs of the state.
“This administration is ready to give every law abiding Nigerian resident in the state, a sense of belonging and a platform to thrive. There is no form of discriminatory treatment of residents along ethnic or religious lines. For being this kind to our people, we will support the Governor massively even beyond 2023.”
Dooshima urged the Tiv community, to be law abiding, remain vigilant and contribute their quota to the growth of the society they habit: “All Nigerians who seek a means of living in Oyo state, is afforded equal opportunities to fulfill their dreams. To this end, I urge you all to be law abiding and good ambassadors of your respective states and localities. Avoid actions that negate the progress of the society and be rest assured of the protection of your basic rights bythe present administration in Oyo state. “
In his speech the Director General Oyo state liaison office, Abuja and Lagos, said the present government in Oyo state priorities inter ethnic harmony because it strongly believes in one Nigeria and all law abiding citizens should be able to go about their businesses without intimidation.
