The Chairman of Ibarapa North Local Government Area and Chairmanship Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Honourable Lateef Akorede has taken his Akorede 2.0 campaign to Igangan.

He also thanked Governor Seyi Makinde for ensuring peace in Igangan and Oyo state in general.

He made this known in a statement made available to newsmen, on Monday.

It reads: “With Support of My Boss Engineer Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, Akorede 2.0 Campaign Gains Momentum in Igangan.

“Continuing my campaign for re-election, I visited the General meeting in Igangan, Ibarapa North, to promote my Akorede 2.0 Agenda. This agenda builds upon the accomplishments of the Akorede 1.0 and aims to bring about further developments in various sectors including education, healthcare, security, and infrastructure, to ensure a prosperous future for Ibarapa North.

“The massive turnout for my Akorede 2.0 campaign in Igangan was a testament to the residents’ satisfaction with the leadership demonstrated by Governor Seyi Makinde at the state level. I thanked the crowd and assured them that my accomplishments in the Akorede 1.0 administration were made possible with the support of the Governor.

“The General meeting was attended by dignitaries from various wards in Igangan, Tapa, and Ayete, including Hon. Adegbenjo, Hon. Samuel, Hon. Fatai (Leader of the House), Chief Olaotan, Hon. Orisadeyi Okikiolu, Mr. Azeez Oyio, and party members and leaders.

“The General meeting in Igangan witnessed the defection of two groups, Adebolu Peter and Akala Junction, from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to our party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). I welcomed them into the fold, commended their decision, and guaranteed equal opportunities for them, as well as for any others who might join us in the future.

“Hon. Funmilayo commended my tenure as the Executive Chairman of Ibarapa North under the Akorede 1.0 administration, stating that in a short span of time, I had put down a tremendous legacy that had catapulted Ibarapa North to a front-line position.

“Hon. Funmilayo appealed to the residents of Igangan, stating that I had demonstrated remarkable leadership and governance under the Akorede 1.0 administration. She urged them to re-elect me in order to continue the progress and development of the region under the Akorede 2.0 Agenda.

“While addressing the large crowd, I highlighted that a vote for the PDP is a vote for continuity of good governance. It is also a continuation of the commitment to a future of quality infrastructure that creates jobs, boosts the economy, and promotes equal opportunities for all, while also ensuring the safety and security of our society.

“These are not just promises, but a reality we will tirelessly pursue. As such, I humbly appealed for their continued support, urging them to join our pursuit of genuine leadership that prioritizes the welfare and prosperity of every citizen. I emphasized that their votes are more than just ballots; they are an endorsement of the collective vision we hold for a brighter future.

“Finally, I brought smiles to the widows by bestowing them with presents and gave bags of rice to our party members. I promised that if re-elected, I would continue to promote good governance under the Akorede 2.0 administration, further enhancing the progress and development of Ibarapa North”
