The party chairman of Ibadan North East Local Government Area, Alhaji Isiaka Fatokun, on Thursday, clarified that no candidate has been duly endorsed by party stakeholders in the council for the chairmanship position.
He stated this in a press statement made available to journalists in Ibadan, describing the report as fake.
The party chairman, who added that consultation and deliberations are still ongoing among the party stakeholders, stressed that consensus candidate will be announced to the public in due time.
The statement said: “The attention of the Ibadan North East Local Government Party Chairman has been drawn to a fake news of an endorsement of a certain candidate by some party stakeholders.
“I Alhaji Fatokun Isiaka, the PDP chairman with the backing of party leaders including Chief Bayo Lawal, state that no aspirant has been confirmed as concensus in Ibadan North East LG. As a party, we are still deliberating and consulting all stakeholders.
“I hereby state that my office will announce a concensus candidate once consultations are concluded.
“Ibadan North East members and leaders are well behaved and loyal party members. All activities of the party are conducted with decorum.
“Media outlets are hereby adviced to confirm all news regarding Ibadan North East from the Office of the Chairman Ibadan North East Party Chairman.”
