The students of Ladoke Akintola University, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, Oyo State on Wednesday took to the entrance of the institution to celebrate the death of their ”living” Vice Chancellol, Prof. Sulaimon Gbadegesin.
In photos that have been making rounds online, the students were seen pasting obituary photos of the vice chancellor, and frying beans cake (akara) to celebrate the ”exit” of the institution head.
Recall that following a threat by workers unions at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, to embark on an industrial action over unpaid salaries by the management of the insitution, the Oyo State House of Assembly had summoned the Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Adeniyi Gbadegesin and the Oyo State education commissioner, Prof. Adeniyi Olowofela.
The invitation, according to the Assembly, became necessary in order to resolve the lingering crisis that has bedevilled the institution in the last couple of years due to non-payment of workers’ salaries.
