A governorship aspirant on the platform of African Democratic Congress, Senator Olufemi Lanlehin, has urged members of the party to remain calm, as they await the party’s governorship candidate for 2019 general election.
This is contained in a statement by media assistant to Senator Lanlehin, Damola Adeoye, and made available to pressmen.
Recall that insideOYO.com had earlier reported that the party submitted Dr Dele Ajadi as the party’s temporary candidate pending the time the party elders will agree on who to be used as the party’s flagbearer in the 2019 general elections.
Sources had earlier revealed to insideOYO.com that the party had settled for Senator Olufemi Lanlehin. A development which most of the aspirants frowned at. To prevent crisis, the party suspended the announcement instead chose a tentative candidate.
The statement revealed that the seeming long wait for the candidate shows the party’s deference to all shades of opinion.
It added that the love for the party, respect for party supremacy and desire to deliver true dividends of democracy to the people of Oyo state, is the driving force for the development.
The statement appreciates the entire leadership and membership of the party, as well as the good people of Oyo state, for their continued love and support for the party.
