Education Secretaries across the 33 Local Government Areas, have congratulated Governor Seyi Makinde, the governor-elect of Oyo State.
A statement signed by the Education Secretary, Ibadan South-west Local Government, Mrs. Morenike Adeniran, indicated this on Wednesday.
The statement urged Governor Seyi Makinde to keep up his good works, in placing a premium on education in the State.
The Education Secretaries praised Makinde for his steadfastness, hard work and commitment to the welfare of the people that earned him the victory.
The Education Secretaries also praised the people of Oyo, the Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC), the media, Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and the security operatives for ensuring that the will of the people prevailed.
“On behalf of all Education Secretaries in Oyo State, I congratulate the people’s Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde on his overwhelming victory.
“The victory of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the Oyo election is a measure of trust and confidence of the citizens on him and the party “, the Secretaries stated.
The Secretaries however, counselled Governor Makinde not to take the trust and confidence of the electorate for granted, stressing that he should build on his giant strides.
The Education Secretaries noted that Makinde, in the last 4 years has changed the narrative by bringing positive changes to the state.
“Sir, it is obvious that Parents, Teachers, and students, trooped out in numbers & voted in the right candidate of their choice. We as well observed the most peaceful election so far in the history of the state”.
“We want to congratulate Governor Seyi Makinde on his reelection as the governor of Oyo State. Your antecedents as the Engineer of modern Oyo State, played out during this election. We wish you well in this new journey.”
