The Ibarapa North Local Government in Oyo State has launched an innovative competition, “One Day Chairman”, designed to spot and groom future leaders among its youth.
The initiative, launched by the Supervisory Councilor for Education, Hon. Simisoluwa Agbaje, brings together students from 18 schools across the local government.
The competition, which started with an essay writing contest, allows students to showcase their thoughts on leadership, technology, and governance.
The winners of the first phase will proceed to the next round, with the local government expected to announce the date soon.
The “One Day Chairman” competition aims to empower the youth, foster healthy competition, excellence, and leadership development among young citizens.
According to the organizers, the initiative is not just about celebrating the chairman’s anniversary, but about investing in the next generation of leaders.
As one observer noted, “These young minds, brimming with fresh ideas and bold visions, are proof that the future of Ibarapa North is in capable hands.”
The competition is expected to spark a new wave of leadership development and innovation in the local government.
