The ancient city of Ibadan is set to come alive this weekend as over 20,000 fans are expected to throng the much-anticipated Davido 5ive Concert in Ibadan, a mega music fiesta that promises to be the biggest show the city has seen in years.
Organised as part of the superstar’s ongoing tour, the event will see Afrobeats global icon, Davido mount the stage in grand style, performing his catalogue of hits from Dami Duro to Unavailable, Feel, and Timeless.
But the O.B.O. magic won’t shine alone. In the true spirit of giving back and spotlighting local creativity, Davido will share the stage with some of Ibadan’s most vibrant rising stars, Keanzo, Fabulous Pizzy, Dele Omo Woli, and Sade Blaq — who are already stirring excitement on social media with teasers and behind-the-scenes rehearsals.
The concert, expected to draw music lovers from Oyo, Osun, Ogun, Ekiti, Ondo and Lagos States, is being touted as a “total entertainment experience” combining live performances, hypes, dance in a night of glitz, lights, and unstoppable rhythm.
Ibadan’s nightlife and hospitality scene are already gearing up for the influx of fans, influencers, and entertainment lovers trooping into town. Hotels around Ring Road, Bodija, Jericho and other high brow areas in Ibadan are reporting brisk bookings, while city vendors are preparing for the weekend rush.
