As National Chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun inaugurated the elected state chairmen of the party on Monday, some members of the Unity Forum were shut out.
Some factional members of the Unity Forum had besieged the secretariat and attempted to gain entrance into the inauguration hall.
insideoyo.com gathered that with the development, the factional chairman in Oyo, Alhaji Isiaka Alimi, who had earlier accessed the hall, was shown the way out, while Oyo State Unity Forum, led by Communications Minister, Adebayo Shittu, were shut out.
Among the members of the Unity Forum locked out were Sen. Munsorat Sumonu, and some members of the House of Representatives who chanted solidarity songs and protested the recognition of the faction of Oyo State governor, Abiola Ajimobi, who they argued did not buy forms, and, therefore, should not be sworn in.
Meanwhile, Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi , has congratulated the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress. (APC) on Monday’s successful inauguration of elected state chairmen of the party, describing the event as historic.
He called on the Unity Forum to embrace reconciliation, saying the situation is no victor, no vanquished scenario.
