In their commitment to the mission of supporting youth activities in the State, the 9th Oyo State House Of Assembly, through Honorable Fola Oyekunle, Chairman House Committee on Youth and Sports, paved the way for citizens to have equal opportunity of participating in the 2020 Most Beautiful Girl in Oyo State contest.
In one of his round table chat with the organizers of MBGOS, Hon. Oyekunle identified lack of funds as a major factor deterring ordinary people, with great potentials from participating in the contest.
He therefore, through collective bargaining, negotiated with the stakeholders of the event to make registration to participate in the contest FREE for everyone who is interested to participate in order to encourage young models and aspiring models in the state to make use of beauty, coupled with intellect, for the development of culture and tourism in Oyo State.
One of the prerequisites for participating in the annually held beauty contest was a registration fee of N5,000 which the Honorable identified as a huge stumbling block against which many ordinary girls in the State may be handicapped.
Following intensive consultation and considering the inclusiveness of ordinary young girls in the State, the management of the Beauty pageant has agreed to abolish the registration fee for the 2020 edition of the event, to spur confident prospective contestants to compete for the MBGOS crown on equal ground.
