The George SKDD Foundation of Houston, Texas in collaboration with Rotary Club of Ibadan, Jericho Metro presents this month’s food outreach to the elderly, impoverished and pregnant women in Aperin area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
For the month of January 2024, it was dedicated to the Orita Aperin Community to receive the food palliatives and other items.
The beneficiaries were drawn from Orita Aperin and adjoining neighborhoods with about hundred aged citizen, impoverished and pregnant women receiving food packages, mosquito nets and birthing kits.
Representing the George SKDD Foundation, the President, Rotary Club Ibadan, Jericho Metro, Rotarian Damilola Olaleye disclosed that the monthly food outreach is aimed at solving food and malnutrition issues in the community.
The Chairman of the committee of Monthly food outreach of George SKDD Foundation of Houston, Texas, Rotarian Omolara Oluborode said the idea is to help the less privileged and the downtrodden.
Some of the beneficiaries including community leaders lauded the initiative of Rotary Club of Ibadan, Jericho Metro and George Foundation for the food packages.
The event was also an opportunity for the Rotary Club of Ibadan Jericho Metro to orientate the aged and pregnant women in the area on how they can keep themselves healthy and inform them about services provided at the Primary Health Center.
It was also an opportunity to let the community to know more about the location of the community’s PHC’s and the International Medical Mission intervention that will be taking place there in July 2024.
