Deputy speaker in the Oyo State House of Assembly in the second republic, Chief Joseph Adesokan has died at the age of 82.
His death by one of his children, Mr Segun Adesokan, a lawyer and former special adviser on Due Process to Governor Abiola Ajimobi, according to Nigerian Tribune.
Adesokan was a staunch leader in the progressive circle. He was a deputy speaker between 1979 and 1983 on the banner of the defunct Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) during the late Chief Bola Ige administration.
He was also a former commissioner during Lam Adesina’s Administration in the state.
