A gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of Alliance for Democracy (AD) in 2019 general election in Oyo State, Engr. Oyedele Hakeem Alao has stated that his party, Alliance for Democracy (AD) is ready to provide alternatives to the misrule of APC and PDP in the past 19 years.
In a statement issued from his campaign office made available to insideoyo.com , the Structural Engineer decried the level of decay in the economy, social and political life of Oyo State as a result of self centered leadership.
He said while we should be happy that our democracy has come to stay, all political actors must be ready to play the game according to the rules.
“Although, it is a thing of joy that our democracy has come to stay, we must all strive to ensure its sustainability by imbibing the culture of civility and outright decorum.
“It is shameful that all the goodwill the present government garnered in the first term between 2011 and 2015 has been rubbished due to unnecessary grandstanding, arrogance and improper management of our abundant resources. They brought free education, now our children are paying for it.
“This is the more reason why the people must shun all those that led us to where we are today.
“While celebrating with you all on the occasion of this year Democracy Day celebration, I want to assure you of my commitment and that of my party, AD to Free and Qualitative Education, Effective and Efficient Healthcare Services, Industrialization, Respect of Traditional Institutions and Rule of Law as well as Youth Empowerment and Sports Development, if voted into power come 2019.”
