Untold ecstasy rent the atmosphere of the Ogbomoso today as stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo state met and mobilized party faithful in the zone to join in the endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the sole candidate of the Party in the 2027 general elections.
In a move facilitated by the Renewed Hope Ambassadors team led by Senator Teslim Folarin, party stakeholders had indicated their resolve to move round the seven geo-politcal zones and fourteen federal constituencies in the state to mobilize grassroots support for the president and the APC ahead of next year’s polls.
Speakers at the open-air meeting held at Soun Ogunlola Hall in Oja’gbo, Ogbomoso were unanimous in their call for unity and understanding among leaders and members of the APC in the state as, according to them, only this could guarantee all round success for the party in the future elections.
Sen. Folarin, in his keynote address, charged members of the party to take the Renewed Hope Agenda message to the grassroots “as it is important for the informed minds to educate others about the quality of leadership being offered by President Tinubu who is leaving no stone unturned to reposition Nigeria and guarantee prosperity, stability and peace to the citizenry.
“Our mission here today is basically to tell the whole world that we, in Oyo state, are ready to key into the Renewed Hope Agenda fully and showcase the spirit of love and togetherness which is prevailing in our great Party at the moment. At the appropriate time, we will hit the nooks and crannies of the state to mobilize voters for the 2027 general elections as it going to be a total victory for the APC.” Folarin said.
Speaking in the same vein; former First Lady and Ambassador-Designate, Mrs Florence Ajimobi, enjoined members to promote unity and peace among themselves. “It is obvious that APC is the only formidable political party in the state and I can assure you all that the current atmosphere of peace will be nurtured and sustained as all key stakeholders have agreed to work together for the re-election of our dear president and also return the APC to Agodi Government House in 2027.
High point of the meeting was the endorsement of President Tinubu for a second term in office and formal reception of hundreds of defectors from other political parties into the APC. The new members were drawn from Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South, Oriire, Ogo-Oluwa and Surulere local government councils.
Stakeholders who attended the open-air meeting included; Pharm. Olayide Abas, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, Chief Iyiola Oladokun, Chief Alake Adeyemo, Engr. Rauf Olaniyan, Sen. Abdulfatai Buhari, Sen. Sarafadeen Alli, Sen. Yunus Akintunde, Sen. Ayoade Adeseun, Chief Sunday Dare, Sen. Hosea Agboola, Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle, Chief Akin Oke, Hon. Aderemi Oseni, Hon. Olamiju on Alao-Akala, Dr. Akin Onigbinde SAN, Hon. Olagunju Ojo, Hon. Asimiyu Alarape among others.
