More than one month after conducting the local government elections in the Oyo state, the state government is yet to pay adhoc staff and some workers of the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission, OYSIEC, www.insideoyo.com can confirm.
The Ad-hoc staff who participated in the election after three days training prior to the election were yet to receive any entitlements.
In an SOS call to OYSEIC, Oyo state government and the commissioner of finance and budget department,obtained by insideoyo.com on Friday, the aggrieved staff appealed to His Excellency, Oyo State Governor, Isaiq Ajimobi, Mr Bimbo Adekanbi, the Commissioner of Finance and Budget and Mr Jide Ajeigbe Oysiec Chairman to seat at a round table and solve this out once and for all and pay these people

“This Government alongside OYSIEC Chairman has refused to pay people that worked through thick and thin during the Oyo State local government Elections. And yet all we hear is the Government has done so much and ordinary Adhoc Staff had to wait One month and 3 days before making this publication.”
“The Election went well and up until this publication is relaeased today being the 15th of June,2018 NO DIME HAS BEEN PAID BY OYSIEC nor THE OYO STATE GOVERNMENT as RENUMERATION TO ALL THE ADHOC STAFFS IN ALL THE 33 LOCAL GOVERNMENTS OF THIS STATE
“WE HEREBY USE THIS AMPLE OPPORTUNITY TO REQUEST FOR OUR DUE PAY, as the work has been done by the Adhoc Staffs and they are all entitled to get their fair rewards,” the message reads.
But in a telephone conversation with insideoyo.com on Saturday, the Public Relations Officer of the OYSIEC, Mr. Cosmas Oni, said the situation affected both the Ad-hoc staff and the electoral body workers.

He told www.insideoyo.com that the situation is receiving due attention as the OYSIEC is working to ensure all get paid in no time.

When www.insideoyo.com asked Mr. Oni when the payment will be made, he said, “hopefully, by next week, if everything works out fine, Everyone should get their pay.”
