Former governor of Oyo, Abiola Ajimobi, and the APC Deputy National Chairman (South West), on Sunday called on Nigerians to live in togetherness and peace as exemplified by Prophet Mohammed (SAW).
Ajimobi made the call in a statement signed by his Media Aide, Mr Bolaji Tunji, in Ibadan.
He urged Nigerians to continue to cooperate with the Federal Government in the fight against Coronavirus (COVID-19), currently afflicting mankind.
He enjoined Nigerians to exercise patience, as the government was doing its best to ensure the country was not adversely affected by the pandemic and if ts attendant economic consequences.
“We should continue to strictly adhere to laid down protocols in the management of COVID-19.
‘`We must at all times wash our hands, use our face masks, continue the physical distancing advisory, while not forgetting to sanitise our hands,” he said.
The former governor said that the country would only achieve greatness in an atmosphere of peace and harmony.
He urged Nigerians to continue to keep safe in this difficult period.
“It is only in an atmosphere of peace and love that people can thrive and attain their potential.
“Nigerians should exhibit love towards fellow human beings, re-dedicate themselves to the service of Almighty Allah and humanity, as demonstrated by Prophet Mohammed (SAW).
“Let us use this Eld-el-Fitri period to pray for the peace, progress and economic emancipation of our dear country,” Ajimobi said.
