The Aare of Ofiki Land, Alayeluwa, Oba Adeoye Gbenga Adigun Oyinlola II, JP has called for reflection and prayers as COVID-19 pandemic is no respect of status, ethnicity, race or religion.
In a statement made available to InsideOyo.com on Wednesday, the traditional ruler extended appreciation to all health care providers for their proactive measures during these times.
Aare Ofiki also thanked all well meaning individuals for giving food items to the needy at this period.
“This period of time is a of period reflection and prayers. Where the pandemic does not respect status, ethnicity, race nor religion.
“It’s catastrophic,” he said.
Oba Adeoye said he has been in an intensive 24hrs prayer chain in the Baptist World Alliance for the whole World, praying that God heal Governor Seyi Makinde and others infected by the virus.
“We have been in intensive 24hrs prayer chain in the Baptist World Alliance for the whole World. May God heal our Governor Engr Seyi Makinde and all infected by the virus.
“May God grant him quick recovery to continue his good work for the state.
“May God put an end to the existence of the virus.”
He called for continuation of radio stations in languages too sensitise the people of Oyo state on the impact of coronavirus pandemic.
