Six men have been remanded at the Agodi Correctional Centre, Ibadan, after being arraigned before the Chief Magistrate’s Court sitting at Moniya, Oyo State, over alleged conspiracy, vandalism and stealing at a manufacturing site under construction.
The defendants are Adisa Quadri Adewale, 32; Obi Victor, 52; Umar Sanni, 30; Samuel Sunday, 20; Babuga Abubakar, 21; and Arisu Arunna, 24.
According to the charge filed by the Commissioner of Police, Oyo State, the defendants allegedly conspired with others now at large to commit a felony and steal at Iroko Expressway, Ibadan, at about 2:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2026.
The development followed the alleged vandalisation of a manufacturing site under construction on the Iroko Expressway, where the accused persons and others now at large were allegedly involved in the incident.
The charge sheet states that the alleged offence is contrary to and punishable under Section 516 of the Criminal Code Law of Oyo State, 2000.
Following their arraignment, the court ordered the six defendants to be remanded at the Agodi Correctional Centre pending further proceedings.
The case was subsequently adjourned until September 14, 2026, for hearing.
The court also stipulated conditions for bail, including that any individual standing as surety must have a house within Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State, in addition to the payment of N500,000 for each defendant.
The six defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty by the court.
