The Babaloja General of Oyo State, Asiwaju Yekeen Abass, has commiserated with traders at Bodija Market following a rainstorm that damaged parts of the market, killed one person and injured several others.
In a statement released over the weekend, Alhaji Abass extended condolences to the Bodija Market chairman, Alhaji Ismail Jimoh, the traders, and the Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government.
He described the incident as a โsober reflection and natural disaster which can only be averted by Almighty Allah,โ and prayed for the family of the deceased and for the quick recovery of those injured.
While sympathizing with those affected, Abass urged traders and artisans to take shelter in safe places during rainfall.
He also called on traders at Bodija Market to stop trading on roadsides and to move into the newly created lock-up shops and open stalls for their safety.
The rainstorm struck parts of Bodija Market in recent days, causing structural damage and casualties.
