The Babaloja General of Oyo State, Alhaji (Chief) Asiwaju Yekini Abass Oladapo, popularly known as YK Abass, has announced the formation of a new coalition, the Alliance of Traders and Artisans Leadership in Oyo State, alongside prominent market leaders.
The Alliance is aimed at fostering stronger ties among traders and artisans, promoting unity, and enhancing advocacy for market-related interests in the state.
The crucial meeting, held in the early hours of Thursday, saw the attendance of significant figures in Oyo State’s trading community, including the Asiwaju Olójà of Oyo State, Chief (Mrs) JT. Raimi ably represented by Alhaji Alagbada, and other respected leaders of market clusters.
Following the deliberations, Alhaji YK Abass led the delegation of market leaders on a visit to the site of the recent fire incident at Oranyan Market, Ibadan, to sympathize with affected traders.
During the visit, he expressed deep concern over the devastating loss and pledged the Alliance’s support for efforts to assist those impacted by the tragic event.

The Alliance has expressed a strong commitment to working with relevant authorities to prevent such incidents in the future and to seek better safety measures for market traders across Oyo State.
