An aspirant for the Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency seat under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, Samuel Adenitan Oluwaseun, has formally declared his intention to contest in the 2027 general elections, promising inclusive development and people-oriented representation.
Adenitan made the declaration on Friday, where he unveiled what he described as a practical development-driven agenda for the constituency.
Addressing residents, party leaders, youths, women, and stakeholders across Egbeda and Ona-Ara local government areas, the APC aspirant said his ambition was driven by a desire to deliver visible and impactful service to the people.
According to him, the constituency deserves better representation capable of addressing challenges facing residents, especially unemployment, poor infrastructure, insecurity, and economic hardship.
“Today is a defining moment, a moment of decision, responsibility, and renewed hope. I stand before you not as a stranger, but as your son, your brother, and your partner in progress,” he said.
“With deep humility and a strong sense of duty, I hereby declare my intention to contest for the position of Member, House of Representatives for Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency under the platform of our great party, the APC.”
Adenitan stated that his decision to join the race was not motivated by personal ambition or power, but by a commitment to service and development.
He noted that years of interacting with residents across communities in the constituency exposed him to the realities confronting the people.
“I have listened to your concerns, walked your streets, and felt your struggles. I came to one clear conclusion: our people deserve better, and better is possible,” he said.
The APC aspirant said his campaign would be anchored on the slogan, “Ìdàgbàsókè ló jẹ́ àfojúsùn,” meaning “development is the goal.”
According to him, his focus would be on industrialisation, infrastructure, agriculture, healthcare, youth empowerment, security, and women development.
Speaking on economic growth, Adenitan promised to support local businesses, attract investments, and create opportunities capable of generating sustainable income for residents.
“We will pursue industrialisation that moves our people from daily struggle to sustainable income by supporting local businesses, encouraging entrepreneurship, and attracting investments that create jobs within our constituency,” he said.
On infrastructure, he pledged to facilitate better roads, improved electricity supply, and functional community projects.
“No more abandoned promises only completed projects,” he stated.
The APC aspirant also promised to prioritise food security and agricultural development by supporting farmers with modern tools, improved market access, and policies that would make farming more profitable and attractive to youths.
He further pledged to champion youth empowerment through skills acquisition programmes, job opportunities, and innovation support initiatives.
“To the youths of Egbeda and Ona-Ara, you are talented and capable. What you need is opportunity, and that is what we will provide,” he said.
On healthcare, Adenitan promised to advocate improved medical facilities and accessible healthcare services across the constituency, while also assuring residents of support for security initiatives aimed at protecting lives and property.
He equally pledged support for women-focused programmes designed to promote economic growth, leadership, and empowerment for women across the constituency.
Adenitan urged residents to support his ambition, promising accessible, accountable, and responsive representation if elected into the House of Representatives.
