Alerzo, Nigeria’s leading technology service provider digitising Nigeria’s Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), rewarded winners at the Omituntun 2.0 Ibadan Polo tournament, in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The tournament, which happened on Saturday the 22nd of July, was organised by the Ibadan Polo Club to honour Engineer Seyi Makinde over his re-election as the Governor of Oyo State.
The tournament was mainly sponsored by Alerzo, a company whose mission is to leverage technology to empower MSMEs in Nigeria.
While speaking, the Chief Executive Officer of Alerzo, Adewale Opaleye said Alerzo mainly sponsored the tournament because it honours Governor Seyi Makinde for the good work he has been doing in the State.
Opaleye congratulated Governor Makinde over his second term victory and thanked him for providing an enabling environment for businesses like Alerzo and its subsidiaries, Alerzoshop and Veedez to thrive.
Alerzo CEO said: “If you look at the history of Oyo State and where we are currently, you would see a very good improvement.”
While speaking on the reasons for sponsoring the tournament, Opaleye said Alerzo, still operating in Ibadan, started operations in Ibadan and there is a need to thank and commend the Governor for the good job he is doing in enabling local businesses.
His words: “Alerzo started in Ibadan. I’m also from here. We have a governor that is performing well. It makes sense to appreciate him for creating an environment for Alerzo to succeed in Oyo State.”
Opaleye further said that: “Alerzo hopes to do a lot more in employing more youths and creating business value for Oyo residents in the informal sector. We thank the Governor, and we hope he keeps up the good work in making businesses like ours succeed here.”
Meanwhile, Governor Seyi Makinde donated a tractor to the Ibadan Polo Club.
The Governor also promised to reconstruct the road leading to the club and fix street lights after the reconstruction.
While pledging his support to the Ibadan Polo Club, Governor Seyi Makinde appreciated Alerzo and others for organising the tournament.
He gave an assurance that his administration will continue to work hard to ensure the business environment in the State encourages startups, like Alerzo, to operate with less hurdles.
His words: “Let me also thank the sponsors. I looked at this my young friend and I also remembered when I started my business. I was just 29 and a lot of people didn’t give me any chance.”
“I want to give you the assurance that we will continue to work really hard to make sure that the business environment in Oyo State keeps encouraging our youths.”
