The commitment to education took a practical turn in Saki on Wednesday as Hon. Salaudeen Kabeer Adebayo, the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) House of Assembly candidate for Saki West State Constituency, fulfilled his scholarship pledge to Ademola Bushroh of Omolayo Schools and College.
The scholarship was presented to Bushroh following a promise made by Hon. Salaudeen Kabeer during the school’s Valedictory Service, turning what began as a commitment into direct support for the student’s educational journey.
The presentation attracted appreciation from the school management and further placed education at the centre of discussions surrounding youth development and opportunities for students within the community.
Addressing those present during the presentation, Hon. Salaudeen Kabeer Adebayo reiterated his position on education, stating unequivocally that his focus on education remains second to none.
He emphasized the importance of encouraging students to remain committed to their studies while supporting initiatives capable of helping them overcome obstacles to educational advancement. His intervention in favour of Bushroh, he noted, reflects the broader need to invest in the next generation.
The scholarship comes at a significant point in the beneficiary’s academic journey, providing assistance that can help sustain his educational aspirations while also serving as encouragement to other students who continue to pursue their academic goals.
Reacting to the development, the Proprietor of Omolayo Schools and College, Mr. Omolayo Afeez, expressed profound appreciation to Hon. Salaudeen Kabeer for extending the gesture to one of the institution’s students.
The proprietor commended the scholarship initiative and prayed fervently for success in all the endeavours of the APM candidate, describing the intervention as a welcome contribution toward the welfare and educational progress of the beneficiary.
The occasion also highlighted the broader responsibility of stakeholders in ensuring that promising students receive the encouragement and support required to continue their education.
While educational institutions remain central to academic development, interventions from community stakeholders can provide additional assistance to students and families, particularly where financial considerations may create difficulties.
For Ademola Bushroh, Wednesday’s presentation marks the actualisation of a promise made before the school community. Beyond the immediate value of the scholarship, the gesture carries a message of encouragement and renewed motivation for the student to remain focused on his educational goals.
The development has also reinforced the importance of translating commitments into measurable actions, particularly when such commitments directly affect young people and their future prospects.
As the beneficiary continues her academic journey, the scholarship from Hon. Salaudeen Kabeer Adebayo stands as a practical educational intervention, while the response from Omolayo Schools and College underscores the value attached to initiatives that place students and their development at the centre of community engagement.
