Adebutu made the donation on Saturday through the Kesington Adebukunola Adebutu Foundation (KAAF), at an event held at the headquarters of the Foundation in Surulere, Lagos.

Making the donation on behalf of the donor and KAAF, member of the Foundation’s board of trustees, Chief Kola Oyefeso, said the donation of the four ambulances was a continued gesture of Sir Adebutu to help fight COVID-19 in the South West.

Oyefeso said with the donation, the beneficiary states would have additional medical equipment to deal with the pandemic in their respective states.

He explained that prior to the donation of the ambulances, the renowned philanthropist had supported Lagos and Ogun state governments with N400million to fight the virus.

According to him, while the Lagos State government received a donation of N300million, the Ogun State government received N100 million.

Oyefeso also revealed that apart from monetary donations made, Adebutu had also donated tons of food items worth several millions of naira as palliatives to the 33 towns of Remoland in Ogun State; Surulere and Ajegunle communities in Lagos.

Oyefeso, however, advised that all efforts must be concentrated to fighting the deadly disease in the country, noting that government alone could not fight the scourge.

He called on other public-spirited individuals in the country, especially in the South-West, to emulate the gesture of Sir Adebutu by supporting the governments in their bid to combat the deadly virus.

Responding to the donation representatives of the benefitting states expressed sincere gratitude to Sir Adebutu.

They described the ambulances as veritable facilities to compliment the efforts of their state governments in combating the virus, promising that the ambulances would be used according to the purpose for which they were donated.
