In a move aimed at building a solid foundation for the new Rotary District, District Governor Kayode Olowolagba has appointed the Aare of Ofiki land, Oba Gbenga Adigun Adeoye Oyetunji Oyinlola II JP phf as District Chair for Cultural Promotion for the 2024-2025 Rotary year.
The appointment, which was announced in a letter to the traditional ruler dated 22nd of March, 2024 recognizes his dedicated service to Rotary and his role in laying a solid foundation for the new district.
This is coming weeks after his appointment as the chairman, Policy Advisory Committee to the Executive Chairman of ATISBO local government area of Oyo state.
“I have the pleasure to appoint you as District Chair, Cultural Promotion for 2024/25 Rotary year.
“Your appointment is in recognition of your past record of dedicated service to Rotary; and the hope that with you as a member of the pioneer District Team of our new District, you will dedicatedly play your part and join other crop of dedicated Rotary Leaders in laying a very solid and enduring foundation for the sustenance and growth of this new District.” District Governor Olowolagba wrote.
As District Chair, Rotarian Adeoye will work closely with the District Governor to achieve the district’s vision, mission, and goals.
His responsibilities will include assisting in district programs and activities, maintaining a healthy Rotary Foundation contribution, and undergoing further training on the Rotary Learning Centre and Manual of Procedure.
“I will heavily count on your support and maximum cooperation to deliver on the arduous task of laying a solid foundation for our new district,” District Governor Olowolagba said. “I congratulate you on this well-deserved appointment and have no doubt that you will excel in this new role.”
Rotarian Adeoye, who is the outgoing President of the Rotary Club of Ibadan City Central, has been an active Rotarian for several years and has served in various capacities in the club.
His appointment as District Chair for Cultural Promotion is seen as a testament to his dedication and commitment to Rotary’s ideals.
