Oyo State politics appears to be entering a new phase one defined by fairness, inclusivity, and recognition of loyalty. At the centre of this shift is Chief Luqman Oyebisi Ilaka, a seasoned politician whose consistency and commitment to public service have earned him growing attention.
Ilaka’s political journey reflects resilience and dedication. Over the years, he has remained loyal to his party and consistently contributed to its growth, even in the face of electoral setbacks. His role as Chief of Staff under Governor Seyi Makinde further demonstrated his administrative capacity and strategic importance in governance.
Despite these contributions, concerns have emerged about fairness in political reward systems within the state. Many supporters argue that loyalty, experience, and sacrifice should be adequately recognised when opportunities arise.
The call, therefore, is not just about Ilaka as an individual, but about establishing a political culture rooted in justice and equity. Rewarding dedication encourages trust in leadership and strengthens party unity, while neglecting it risks discouraging committed stakeholders.
As Oyo State moves forward, there is a growing expectation that political decisions will reflect merit, fairness, and inclusiveness.
The emergence of leaders like Ilaka symbolizes this hopea potential turning point toward a more balanced and principled political landscape.
