“One male adult was injured, but five men died in the crash. The dead victims were the four persons on a motorcycle operated on the expressway and another passerby.

“The suspected cause of the multiple crash is speeding, which led to loss of control where four persons on the motorcycle, including the rider, were crushed to death together with another passerby. None of the occupants of the two vehicles died in the crash.”

Oladele said the injured victim was taken to a hospital, while the dead were transported to a morgue in Sagamu.

The sector commander reiterated the need for motorcyclists to obey the National Road Traffic Regulations 2012, which precluded riding of motorcycles with less than 50-cubic capacity on expressways.
