10 persons sustained injuries and 3 confirmed dead by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in an accident that occurred on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway on Monday.
The Ogun State FRSC Sector Commander, Clement Oladele confirmed this in a statement made available to newsmen on Tuesday.
Oladele informed that the accident occurred along Isara bridge, near Ogere on the Lagos–Ibadan express way.
He noted that the accident involved a Mazda bus, registered as KRD290XY and a DAF truck marked, JHN401XA.
According to him, three people lost their lives in the accident, while ten others sustained injuries.
The sector commander claimed that the accident was caused by wrongful overtaking and excessive speed, which he said led to loss of control.
He maintained that the victims have been deposited at the FOS Isara, while five of the injured victims were rescued to Victory Hospital, Ogere as three others were transferred to Idera Hospital, Sagamu for medical attention.
According to him, two other injured victims declined being evacuated by the FRSC Rescue Team for medical attention, claiming they were okay.
