Apparently as a result of the shift in dates of the general elections to February 23 and March 9, all public and private schools in Oyo state are set to still observe two periods of break after resuming on Tuesday, 19th February.
According to a statement by Permanent Secretary, Oyo Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Mrs I. I. Fatoki, all schools will proceed on break on Friday 22nd February 2019 and resume on Tuesday 26th February 2019.
The second break will be from Friday 8th March 2019 to Tuesday 12th March 2019.

Meanwhile, following an earlier directive by the state’s education ministry to school heads last week, all schools in the state are on break on Monday, 18th February and are expected to resume on Tuesday, 19th February.
Notwithstanding the fact that elections no more held last Saturday, Fatoki, in a conversation with Tribune Online, on Sunday, said the earlier directive that schools were to resume Tuesday stood.
