After a successful outing in Sokoto, Atiku Abubakar, Nigeria’s former vice president and presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is headed to the north central with his campaign team.
The Punch reports that the campaign in the north central would hold on Wednesday, December 5, in Ilorin, Kwara state.
The report says the south west rally would hold in Ibadan, Oyo state on Thursday, December 6, after the north central rally.
It was also reported that the director of media and publicity of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Kola Ologbondiyan; and the spokesperson for the party in Kwara key state, Tunde Ashaolu, confirmed the plan.
The Ilorin rally will hold at the Metropolitan Square, according to Ashaolu. A statement credited to him also welcomed the vice president, Yemi Osinbajo, to Kwara state for the inauguration of the federal government’s social investment programmes, TraderMoni.
“The party notes that the scheme was launched in 2015 and in the past three years, the vice president did not visit any state for ‘TraderMoni,’ but few months to the general election, he has been going round markets in different states of the country to distribute money to traders and artisans,” he said.
