A woman, Mrs. Aminat Jamiu-Aderogba, narrowly escaped death on 21 September, 2024 when a car traveling in the opposite direction suddenly veered into her lane and collided with her vehicle.
The accident, which occurred on Sango – Mokola road in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital, left eyewitnesses stunned and describing it as a “miracle escape” for Mrs. Aderogba.
According to eyewitnesses, the car that caused the accident was traveling at high speed when it suddenly crossed into the opposite lane, crashing into Mrs. Aderogba’s vehicle.
“The impact was massive,” said an eyewitness who preferred anonymity. “I was driving behind the car that caused the accident, and I saw everything. It was like a scene from a movie. I couldn’t believe my eyes.”
The accident caused severe damage to Mrs. Aderogba’s car, with eyewitnesses describing the wreckage as “horrific.”
“It’s a miracle that she survived,” said another eyewitness. “The car was badly damaged, but she managed to walk away with minor injuries. It’s a testament to her luck and the safety features of her vehicle.”
Mrs. Aderogba was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and is reported to be in stable condition.
The driver of the car that caused the accident is yet to be identified, and it is unclear if any charges will be filed.
The incident has raised concerns about road safety and the need for drivers to exercise caution while driving. The incident has left many in the community shaken, but grateful that Mrs. Aderogba escaped with her life.
