A day to the final burial of his late father, immediate past caretaker chairman of Ibadan North West local government area of Oyo State, Dr. Wasiu Olatubosun, has alleged that his life is no longer safe.
Writing on his Facebook account, Olatubosun Wasiu Adewale, he asked his friends to remember him as ‘hired assassins are after me?, to get me eliminated before tomorrow’s program’.
Speaking with insideoyo.com
on the phone, Olatubosun, who is of the All Progressives Congress Congress, APC, said he does not ?know what his sins are, adding that “it was not that I am that afraid of dying, I just want to alert the public so as to be aware.”
When asked if the ‘threat’ could be connected to his recent visit to the office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, he said he would not want to reveal vital information as he has petitioned the appropriate quarters.
has been reporting how the EFCC has been inviting ex-caretaker council chairmen ?who served till May 2015 for allegedly withdrawing N11m each from the various LGA’s accounts.
Speaking philosophically, he said an injustice anywhere is a threat to peace everywhere, key
noting that only God can silence him.
He revealed how some suspected assassins visited his home earlier today in ‘a micra car, with dark glasses’. “I had to escape immediately I got wind of the planned attack,” he said.
Hear him: “Whether anybody threatens me or not, I know that I must die one day. I believe that as a Muslim. In fact, nobody knows when he or she is going to die. Only God knows that. And dying is a two-way thing; it is either someone dies or he gets killed. If telling the truth will cost me my life, I am ready. I am not a coward. This is not the first time. I got series of threats, when we were not yet in government.
“I have reported to the appropriate quarters. I am telling you this to let the people know what I am going through. I will neither be cowed? nor keep silent,” he explained.
Efforts to get him revealed those who are after his life proved ab?ortive as he said: “at the appropriate time, I am going to keep you abreast of development….”
