Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Prof Bolaji Owasanoye, on Thursday, indicted the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment and the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan for padding their nominal rolls.
According to the Nigerian Tribune, the ICPC boss made the revelation while speaking at a public hearing on a motion to investigate the high level of corruption on nominal rolls of the Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs of the Federal Government by the House of Representatives Committees on Anti-Corruption and Public Service Matters.
Prof Owasanoye the Commission was currently investigating the nominal rolls of some agencies at the request of the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation
The agencies under investigation he said were the Ministry of Labour and Employment; the Ministry of Health; the Ministry of Interior; the Ministry of Information and Culture; and the University College Hospital, Ibadan.
He said so far the Ministry of Labour and UCH have been found culpable of padding of their nominal rolls.
According to him, “they were referred to us by HOS. The Interior did not do any recruitment. We have not finished with Health. But Labour and UCH were implicated definitely. Those two were definitely implicated.”
